Children of the Mekong is a London based charity, with the aim to assist children and families living in harsh and impoverished conditions in Southeast Asia to come out of poverty and live with dignity. The charity has been running in the UK since 2011, and has impacted over 2,000 children. We operate in 7 countries: Burma, Cambodia, China (Yunnan), Laos, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
We believe that every child has the right to an education for as long as possible. Our mission is to educate, train and support the youth of Southeast Asia, by enabling them to improve their material living conditions and to develop intellectually, emotionally and morally. By closely following up children and their families, we are able to respond to their identified needs. As long as the child has a desire to study, we are able to support them and provide special care.
Children of the Mekong is a London-based charity registered with the UK Charity Commission (No. 1116375) and the UK branch of “Enfants du Mékong”, a French charity founded in Laos in 1958. Though having the aim to help orphans and disadvantaged communitues, “Enfants du Mékong” has impacted over 60,000 children in one year alone.
